Perfect binding can best be described as a collection of pages held
together along the spine by means of a hot melt glue. For appearance
and strength, a cover is applied which wraps around the book at the
binding stage.
With 3 binding lines, we are able to offer a wide range of
competitive prices for both short and medium runs. Our in-line
binding facility provides for up to 12 sections, at run speeds up to
4,000 books per hour. With off-line gathering and hand feeder
stations for the increased publication.
Special Considerations

1) Covers must be larger than the text sheets in order to avoid glue
seepage
2) Grain direction must run parallel to the spine in order to avoid
both cracking and to minimise the risk of cover distortion
3) Dark solids, silk or Astrolux type covers mark easily and are
often best laminated on the outer face prior to binding
4) Folded sections are best produced with a perforation along both
the head and spine folds in order to remove air and ensure a flat
section for both gathering and binding.
